Great for testing . This is a good, small, inexpensive 10/100 Ethernet switch with port mirroring to allow Ethernet captures of live traffic. You'd need an old Ethernet Hub or a big switch with port mirroring to capture live traffic on an Ethernet. It works great with Wireshark and a laptop since it is USB bus powered.

Great Tool . Use this for setting up and troubleshooting networked equipment. It is compact and light in comparison to regular AC powered hubs, especially when wall sockets (both network and power ports) are limited. Works well for doing network traces for troubleshooting communication problems.
