Use the SuperLooper Loopback Jack and Plug together with your switch or hub to check for breaks or shorts in your network wiring. When plugged into a wall jack or onto a network cable, the loopback completes a circuit to your switch or hub. If the connect
Great self test device . We used this for self tests of our GigE ports. It's compatible with all of our GigE ports and works well.
Cons Review
Two attempts...bad batch? . First, this item was purchased through Cyberguys and their Tech Support communicated well via email, however, I'm not sure about the quality control.
The first Gigabit loopback jack didn't work and quickly received a replacement. Apparently, the replacement was tested prior to shipping, but it didn't work either.
**For some reason, these only work on 10/100M switches/routers and not 1000M. I'll post a video when I have time. I only got these to work on an old Linksys BEFSER41 Router and not the GigE switches and router.
**Another noticeable difference between the first and second loopback jack is that there are different colored pairs of wiring used between the two. Those familiar with Cat-5e/6 cabling could see that the colored pairs are different.
Tested the loopback jacks directly in the ports, through patch cables, and on my MacBook that has GigE, but no loops were created.
Here's my gear:
-TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Gigabit Router
-TP-LINK TL-SG1005D Gigabit Switch
-TRENDnet TEG-S50g Gigabit Switch
