Performance
The hub's one upstream port and four downstream ports support not just SuperSpeed transfer (5Gbps), but are also backwards compatible with previous USB specifications and offer support for Hi-Speed (480Mbps), Full-Speed (12Mbps), and Low-Speed (1.5Mbps) traffic. SuperSpeed USB not only makes transferring HD video files, high pixel count digital photos, and backing up hard drives quick and easy. USB's practical speeds vary by device, but are lower than the theoretical speeds.
Power
Includes higher capacity 4A AC power adapter, for powering every port to USB 3.0's maximum of 900mA. Power management features include the ability for devices to communicate latency tolerance to the host and for links to enter progressively lower power states when link partners are idle. The VIA chipset is unique in that it is the first USB hub controller to use advanced 80nm CMOS technology, further lowering the chip's power usage.

Nice hub with a short cord . UPDATE.
Plugable contacted me to let me know that the short power cord shipped with the hub was due to a packaging error.
They shipped me a replacement power adapter with a 69 inches cord.
This hub now deserve 5 stars so is Plugable customer service, kudos.
I am now completely satisfied.

This hub works wonderfully, no problem to hook-up or power any USB2 or 3 device.
Just one big disappointment, the power cord shipped with the hub is ridiculously short so you HAVE to have the power strip on the desk.
This is a real short coming, by saving a foot of cheap cord they made this hub a looser.
It would be 5 stars if it would not be for the cord.

Works well. No problems so far. . This Superspeed USB 3.0 hub has only four ports, but that may be just fine for many users. Installed without a problem. Transfer rates were as expected with devices plugged into the ports; that is, they performed about the same as when plugged directly into a PC USB port.
When my computer (Win 7, 64 bit) was rebooted or brought out of sleep mode, this hub had no problems seeing whatever was plugged into it. This can sometimes be a problems with USB hubs.
