If you NEED a USB hub this is the one to get! . A simple USB hub can answer the need for more ports on a USB-challenged computer. This is the hub to get if that is your situation.
Pros:
Powered, so it can power external devices that charge through USB (like phones, GPS, iPods)
Simple to operate
7 ports
Cons:
USB 2.0 (might as well start getting ready for USB 3.0)
Pricey

Belkin USB 2.0 7-Port Hub (F4U022v) Reviews
Useful computer accessory but lots of cheaper alternatives available. . Who doesn't have tons of gadgets to plug into USB ports? e.g., External Hard Drive, Printer, Digital Camera, Thumb Drive, Media Card Reader, Blue Tooth devices, Smartphone, MP3 Player, HD Video Cam,mini LED lights, mini fans, (you name it), etc. This PC/Mac, desktop/laptop compatible 7-Port USB hub really comes in handy when plugging in multiple USB devices.
Everything is self-explanatory and clear cut; just plug it in and use. It measures 2.75"x 2.75" and the lightweight plastic obviously won't stay in place by itself. I secured it to the top of my desktop tower with some 3M double sided tape; problem solved. Amazon's price of 29.99 (Belkin's MSRP)is not a good value when comparable, generic 7-port USB hubs can be readily found for less than $5 shipped on many online shopping/auction sites. Shop around.

Belkin USB 2.0 7-Port Hub (F4U022v) Opinions
Great USB hub . I have had a problem with burning out usb hubs in the past but this little hub has performed very well for me. I have a lot of usb devices and tend to daisy chain several together.
What I like about this one is that the slots are on 4 sides so it leaves all of them actually useful - in some hubs where they are straight across, flash drives just won't FIT, so you have to leave some slots open.
This one's design gives me enough power AND enough space, and it still remains smaller, and more pleasing to the eye than my other hubs. It has 7 slots too, giving me 2 more than my other hubs.
I'd really recommend it for anyone that does a lot of graphics work that might have a Wacom tablet- it works very well with mine. It's fast enough and has enough power to pull it plugged directly into the hub instead of the PC without any detectable change in response time.

Belkin USB 2.0 7-Port Hub (F4U022v) . I use this USB as an extra 2.0 when I want to connect my mobile laptop to my printer, 2nd external hard drive, etc. I have a laptop fixed to all components - but it nice to have this extra device to be able to quickly plug and proceed with a task/save/etc. from my mobile laptop. It works, but remember it is a 2.0 so plugging in a 3.0 device will just be a 2.0 process/speed.I recommend this USB for those that need addition USB capabilities.
Quality Powered USB Hub . I have always had good luck with Belkin products and this is no exception. Nice looking, compact and because it is powered
I can use it for anything. The my CPU is on the floor so the USB ports on my computer are a pain to see much less aim a plug
into, this was a great solution and I like being able to keep my camera and iPod cables always connected and easy to get to.

Item works as advertised . Not much to say as it is a 7 port hub and they all work. About as compact as it could be for 7 ports. Have had as many as 5 items plugged in at once and all good.
Very Useful . This is like an extension cord for USB items. It allows you to connect USB items a few feet from the CPU. It also allows you to plug in several things at once. If your CPU is under the desk, for example, and you don't want to bend over all the time to plug in a flash drive, portable hard drive, or other USB-conected device. It works, and it is small enough that it's not an inconvenience on your (physical) desktop. It takes up one USB slot- but since you only need to put it in once, you can plug it into one of those slots on the back that nobody likes to use. You get seven USB slots. Some USB items are a bit wide and cramp in - like some of the 'toy' flash drives kids carry- but most corded USB plugs will fit in two-on-a-side very well. This is a VERY useful thing. I like it a lot.
Does great . I really like this. The size is perfect. It fits in the palm of your hand, to give you an idea on the size. It doesn't slow down the transfer of data, at least not enough to be noticeable. I love that I can use it plugged into the computer or on an outlet to it's own power supply. It has Plug and Play, so there is no software to download before you use it. All in all, I really like it.
Good idea . This hub came as a small relatively square device 2.75" x 2.75". The design is not too large and so does not take up much space on your workspace. It really does offer 7-ports with the connection between it and the PC done via an included cable. There is also an included power adapter but I have not yet figured out what it is used for. The separation between the ports is currently only 3/16 of an inch so I think that they could be a little further apart since I could not fit two flash drives next to each other. Overall a very good idea.
Does the Job. . Even though most of my devices are wireless, I still find myself running out of USB ports on my desktop pc. A camera, an external drive, and a flash drive all compete for the USB ports on my machine. And there is my smart phone. I connect it, mainly for charging, as well. The small Belkin 7 port hub solves the problem. As it's powered, I don't have to worry about my PC (or netbook or notebook) not having the juice to power all the ports. Even in the wireless world we still, at least occasionally, need to be wired. I like this Belkin. The only possible drawback is finding a place on the surge protector or UPS to plug it in.
