Solid Intel . Worked out-of-the-box with Windows 7. I'll note that I had a driver issue caused by my old card, so I had to do a fresh install. Can't fault Intel for my own computer problems though. I didn't have to install anything.

This card is very fast... I'm getting 16MB/sec to my networked RAID drive. I'm not using any advanced features like Jumbo Frames, for legacy compatibility. So that's quite good.

Intel is the best... why save $10 for something inferior. Intel works with everything, and their products are tested against as a gold standard for years to come.
Gigabit Ct Desktop Adapter (bulk) Reviews
Worked when other brand wouldn't on Win 7 . Needing a gig card for my new Windows 7 PC, I purchased the cheaper StarTech.com 1 Port PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet NIC Network Adapter Card (ST1000SPEX). I just needed a cheap pcie gig card and this one seemed to be perfect. However after several hours troubleshooting on my machine, I could not get this to work. The card worked fine in my older XP machine, so I know the card was fine, but for some reason I was getting error messages in Device Manager on the Windows 7 machine. I spoke with support, who was somewhat helpful, but could not help me to get it working. I think that the problem is with Windows 7 machines with Realtek drivers already installed for onboard LAN.

After about 4 hours of trying to get it to work, I decided to pay a little more and hope this Intel card would work. Sure enough, Windows 7 immediately recognized and installed it with absolutely no problems! If you need a pci-e gigabit card, this is the one to get!

WIcked Fast (Windows 7 64bit) . I would love to know why I had to buy a network card for my new PC when one is built in that is not compatible with Windows 7 that it came with. Either way this card is awesome. I moved it to my other PC and it is noticeably faster than the built in jack on that one. Needless to say I have another one coming. Well worth the money and 10 minutes to install.
Worked first time (Windows 7) . I used this to replace an existing network card in an old computer. There were no Windows 7 drivers available for the old network cards (that I could find), and I couldn't use windows update to find any, because I couldn't connect to the network. I've never had any problems with Intel network cards (I've installed them in 10+ computers over the last 15 years or so). Just pop them in, and windows recognizes them straight away.
Great NIC for the price . A real Intel card, including the low profile plate (if you need it for a server), for less than $30. It's hard to beat the price and performance point here, although a better product description would be nice!

Most consumer network chips have notoriously finicky (technical term) drivers, and can be difficult to get working properly out of the box. If you're building a workstation, home NAS, or anything based on consumer-grade motherboards with integrated NICs (normally Realtek), and you need to handle heavy network loads, this will be worth the upgrade. Intel's wired networking products have some of the broadest driver support across a variety of operating systems: look no further if you need to get a card working without fuss.
Network card . I installed the card in 5 minutes, connected it to my 1GB router and I was communicating to my network at 1GB. Plug and Play, no drivers needed. I installed the card in an HP p6310y running W7-64. So far so good.
Excellant . Well worth the money. Has worked flawlessly from the start and much quicker than onboard network interface. Highly recommended to anyone that would like rock solid reliability.
Intel makes great cards . This solved a problem where I ran out of slots. The price is right and works in a team with other intel cards. Now I know what to get for the rest of my Network strapped machines. Fast shipping.
The best reasonably priced gigabit ethernet PCI-E adapter . This card installs flawlessly under Windows 7 64 bit. It's on the ESXi support list as well. Can't think of any downside other than a slightly elevated price when compared to less known companies' competing adapters. Comes with a handy low profile bracket for smaller systems or a rackmounted chassis.
But yes it's true you could have two cheaper cards for one of these but this is an Intel chipset.Excellent driver and software support. What's not to like?
works great in an ESXi server . my motherboard, and all the cheap motherboards out there use the realtek embedded network adaptors. I was looking for a network card that was pci-e and intel based, and this was the cheapest card out there and installed with esxi with no weird modification of the ISO. install and go. easy.
