It Works Flawlessly! . Yes, it works! And it works quite well, I might add.
On The Plus Side:
* It's easy to setup and install.
* It's powered, with a red LED indicator light.
* The USB link cable uses a "mini" connector - similar to those found on cell phones and cameras - on the end connecting to the hub, instead of the usual square type. The connector to the computer is typical USB.
* It has 7 USB outlets: 3 on one side, 2 on the power side, and 2 on top under a sliding window which is ideal for USB sticks, drives, and devices that are connected only when needed.
* Each USB outlet has it's own blue LED indicator light.
* There is plenty of room between each USB connector so it doesn't get over-crowded, unlike some hubs where there is barely enough room.
* It's well made and feels quite substantial, unlike some hubs which feel quite flimsy.
* It's good-looking, with a black piano finish, if looks are important to you.
On The Negative Side:
* It is not stackable. If you're looking for a space-saving size that is stackable, this is not your hub.
* It has a larger footprint because of the design - with ports on each side and on top. If you are clever and inventive, you might find ways to reduce the footprint.
* It's not what I would consider easily portable (pack in your pocket and go) because you also have to take with you the power adaptor and USB cable link. So, if pocket portablility is what you're after, you might wish to consider other options.
I've had the Arkview now for a little over a month and it has worked flawlessly. Would I recommend it? Yes, I would. Without hesitation. You should also know that the Arkview USB Hub is made by Sabrent.

Arkview High-Speed USB 2.0 External 7-Port Hub with AC Adapter Opinions
Pricey but worth it . Most USB hubs are absolute garbage, probably most of them coming out of the same factory in Asia. As time goes on and the USB hub becomes more of a computer commodity, the quality of these units and their design seem to be moving in the wrong direction. My hub started to flake-out, so I was looking for a hub with 4 or more ports, status LEDs for each port, and a descent power supply to handle high current devices. My search left me looking at less than 3 units of the hundreds on the market. I'm not sure if this one had multiple transaction translators for each port or not (my old one did), but the speed and build quality seem above average. Recommended.

Arkview High-Speed USB 2.0 External 7-Port Hub with AC Adapter . Great product, worked fine right out of the box. It has a low profile and doesn't take up much desk space
Too bad Apple chose to drop the power output on their USB ports of their Laptop Computers. My old Power Book didn't need this in order to drive 5 or 6 USB devices. The new laptop can't drive more than 1 device per port (2 ports on laptop). You'll need one of these USB power boosters if you plan on using more than 2 USB devices on laptop. This one does a great job. Plus, it was cheaper than the other ones offered for sale.

stop looking this is the one . my prayers have been answered and this is the USB hub that REALLY can power drives and scanners and iPhones that need more power than your keyboard or typical usb extension can, I Looked, I did all the footwork. I bought one and I'm buying another. Oh yeah, notice it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. [...]
excellant product . Fast shipping from Amazon, love the top ports. I use them for my
camera and my Flip.

Cons Review
Does not have enough power for iPad . This is a decent hub that worked flawlessly so far, however it has one shortcoming, which is that it does not have enough power to charge an iPad...
defective . The usb hub back fed electricity to my computer. The computer was off the power to hub on,computer fan kept running, dvd light on, power light on. Computer would not start. Disconnect power to hub it worked fine. I emailed the company waited a week. The reply was: "We can replace it for you. What is your full invoice information?" Three days later I received RMA number. Five dollars later I shipped it back. I am going to try Velcro to hold it tight to my desk. I expect to be happy with my new hub.
