Works with Macs but it's clunky . Like the other reviewer, I used this on a G4 MacBook with a failed AirPort card. There are basically ZERO instructions for a Mac installation but I do IT support professionally and I figured it out. The software is clunky to say the least. The wireless utility opens by default so you have to minimize it to get to work. You can connect to any visible network but if you want to save that connection for another time you have to create a "Profile" for it. Smarter s/w would give you the option of saving any SSID connection for future use (or would save it automatically and let you set the preferred order for connection attempts automatically on startup). G4s are a nightmare to disassemble but I'll replace my Airport internal card when I get the chance. I really think this item is better used with Windows...

PC / Mac Computer WiFi Wireless Adapter Reviews
Great performance and price . I bought this as a work-around for my failing built-in Airport card. It works perfectly with my Macbook. The wireless range is excellent--I have a good to excellent connection/signal through most of my house and I can still surf the web at the opposite end of the house from my Airport base. The mini cd containing the software and drivers did not work in my Macbook, so I transferred the files from a pc to a flash drive to install. Ralink has updated software on their website. The software is really good. It's easy to use and it provides loads of information about your network. At this point, I'm very happy with this purchase and I recommend it to other Mac users whose Airport card has failed.

Works great settup is a little confusing. . The adapter works great on both my old ppc Mac and an old windows XP laptop. Neither machine read the cd, so I had to search online for the drivers. I had to fudge around with the settings to get it to automatically connect. Once setup the adapters work great.

It works with power pc macs . Being the owner of a first gen mac mini that I purchased off of the floor at the Apple store many moons ago as wireless networking in the home had just taken off, I wanted to kick myself for not purchasing the upgraded model with the built in airport card. Over the years I tried a lot of alternative methods to keep this machine part of my wireless network before I finally gave in and made it a part of my entertainment system and kept it ethernet connected to my Timecapsule. When Apple's new OS and features outgrew my poor little mini (which still works like a charm) I knew it was time to upgrade. This poor machine was about to be banished to the basement until I ran a google search for a wifi windows/mac compatible adapter. I figured I would use a few reward points to get it since it really is dirt cheap and wouldn't have too much heart burn if it was a hoax. After figuring out which driver and software I needed to load it worked like a charm. The one thing mentioned by other reviewers to look out for if you are a Mac person like myself is that the software drivers come on a mini disc. Thank goodness I have an external DVD burner with a tray or I would have had to have a plan B on extracting the drivers. Although I am sure they could be obtained from the web. I would recommend this Wireless Adapter to others.
