A fantastic little adapter . It looks like the 500mW model but it's a full watt and co0mes with the 9 dBi panel, a great little mini-USB antenna built around the Ralink RT73 (aka RT2571). Probably the most powerful antenna you can get in its price range. Bright flashing blue LED on use, the cord lets you place it up high for better reception. Disassembles to fit in a pocket. The only problem is the directional antenna itself, and the endless fiddling that goes along with one of those... it's light and not very sturdy feeling, I had to open the base and tighten the antenna connection after some use. But if you WANT to fiddle with a directional antenna to catch distant wifi signals, it's a great deal.
Don't be scared off by the no-name manufacturer, you can get the RT257X drivers from Ralink's site. I've used it with both XP and 7. It's a bargain and will seriously extend the wifi range of your PC, laptop, or netbook.

Good Product! . Got this for a basement apartment and the wifi was not reachable at all, The unit works great I am very happy with it. I would say its well worth a try. I can do my online work from my room now and its a good 400 feet away and down in the lower part of the garage studio. 5 Stars!

Good adapter great price . I share wireless internet with my daughter, who lives in her home probably 100 yards from mine. She connected the adapter to her computer and has no trouble accessing the internet with a great signal. We've bought other, more expensive adapters, but they haven't worked as well as this one. Highly recommend.

smalll & mighty . I bought 3 of these at a bargain price from Amazon. My intent was to use these as shareable / give-aways when family or customers need help with wireless.
I assembles in seconds, Win7 (Ultimate 64) just recognizes it and it works.
Take it apart, and it is about the size of a deck of cards - great for my tool bag / laptop bag.
I did not take the time to test signal strength like others, but I know it gave me a stronger signal (without fiddling) than my built-in Intel wi-fi on my favorite notebook.
Yes, it does feel a bit flimsy and lightweight, but so far it works like a charm. No complaints.
- I also agree that the instructions and the driver CD are probably more confusing than helpful. If you don't know how to assemble a BNC screw-on connector, this could be a problem. For the more technically-confident, not so big a deal.

Hi Power WiFi USB with antenna. . Works like a jewel. Manual is not for neophites. Range is pretty much as advertized. I would buy this item again!
Works well. . I purchased this antenna to allow my wife to use the internet downstairs in the kitchen. We have cable internet connection and have to use Wi-fi for the connection downstairs. I also like having the computer downstairs to be able to surf something quickly without having to go upstairs. I would definitely recommend this antenna to anyone who needs Wi-fi in their home or business. The adjustability is great with a USB that is on the end of a cord so you can find the right spot for the antenna.
Best of all no doubt . The WiFi adapter has just hit the market recently, but I used another of the same company for my clients WiFi is one of 500mW, but this new model is now 1000mW making it perfect for use inside the house but the signal come from far away, I call the broken wall. Resembles the previous model except that they changed the position of the antenna to a better place and increased power (xmit). I researched all the models we have here in amazon and this is undoubtedly the number one.

Solid USB Wifi Adpater . This BlueProton USB wifi adapter was easy to install and use. Without the adapter, my laptop found three wireless access points. After installing the BlueProton, my laptop found seven wireless access points. I gave the adapter to my sister as a gift - it is good to have a geek as a brother :-)
Works great - installation was tricky. . I live on my parent's property with a back yard, garden, stone shed, and a travel trailer between me and the router. Needless to say my connection was crap, and I really need internet access for college. Based on the reviews of this product (and the 500w/7dBi one) I decided to see if this would solve my problem. The product comes with just a disc, no physical manual and I do not have a disc drive on my notebook. I tried plugging it in and letting windows find drivers for it, which it did, but they were old and it wouldn't work and no amount of fiddling was helping. I used my mom's computer to read the manual on the install disc, and was still confused. The website for this product is absolute crap. No manuals, no way to contact tech support other than an email - nothing helpful at all.Thankfully I decided to check comments here again. The review by Kristofer Rollins mentioned getting the RT257X drivers from the Ralink website. A quick search brought up the Ralink website, I found the drivers under the support section, and downloaded them. Tada! Success. (THANK YOU Mr. Rollins!) My internet is now as fast as if I were sitting next to the router - which is a fair distance away in my parent's house. Now I don't worry about dropped internet! Love it.In addition to poor tech support and difficulty with installation on a notebook, I don't like the rapid blinking of the light when the Antenna is on. But a piece of paper taped over it works to fix that problem. For the price, it is a good little antenna.
