Bonus Hand - Eye Coordination Film Application Game Included! . Iskin products are always pricy and in my experience are often the sturdiest protective cases for Ipods. Be forewarned though that my one attempted warranty claim for an iSkin product (belt clip broke on an old 5G case) was never acknowledged by the company despite a phone message and many emails. Basically buy this case for the design and materials quality, not the warranty. Having never made any other Ipod case warranty claims, I can't say if this bad service is customary in the industry or not.

Anyway, besides the questionable warranty, the Ipod Touch 2G Duo case has another issue. Iskin like many other Touch case mfgrs gives you a thin plastic screen to apply to your Touch screen so you can use the touch function without leaving prints or scratches on the screen. Also like most other manufacturers, Iskin gives you exactly one chance to install the film correctly. You need to clean the screen and then precisely apply the film while using a credit card to smooth out the air bubbles.

iSkin claims you can always detach and reapply the film, but they are fibbing a bit, as the film gets smudged from fingerprint oil very easily if you pull it off for another go and also picks up dust particles which then become embedded in the film. Therefore unless you want a smudgy and dusty Ipod screen, you need to make the first installation of the film the only one.

In my case, the first film application produced some massive air bubbles that I could not get out from under the film even with a credit card. I pulled the film off for another effort and ended up with a greasy dusty film that would not look too appealing on my Ipod. I will now have to return the entire unit and try again.

Besides the one shot film installation, it should be pointed out that the hard visor screen protector included prevents use of the touch function when it is on. As you transport your Touch around, you so must choose between the (hypothetically installed) filmy screen that provides only smudge and scratch protection (but also full use of the touch screen) or the hard visor that gives better impact protection but also desensitizes the screen so it cannot be used for touching. You can take the visor on and off pretty easily, but compared to prior iSkin designs for click wheel Ipods that allowed you to use the wheel while also giving it some protection, this choice between protection and functionality is unwelcome.

Also, this design omits a belt clip, just as well as iSkin could never really make them very sturdy anyway.

If this sounds like an overly negative review, I can only say that iSkin is the worst product except when compared to all the others. I've tried a number of other brands like Speck, Griffin, and Extreme Mac, and the iSkin is the best in terms of features and design by a wide margin. Even the annoying film application process and the choice between light film and heavy visor is very typical of other comparable products.

Buy as cheaply as possible, get someone with keen eyes and a steady hand to help with the film application, and make sure your Amazon vendor will accept returns and exchanges with no restocking fee in case you botch the film installation.
iSkin Silicone Case for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Black) Reviews
Best iPod case out there . I went to Best Buy, Circuit City and looked every where online but didn't see any cases that looked like they would do the job but then I found this case! This case is seriously the best case out there. I absolutely love it! It fits my iPod touch perfectly. The thing I like the most about the case is the silicon texture. When I first got my iPod it felt really slippery, I think maybe the oils in your hand and the chrome back made it that way, at least for me it did but now the case makes it a lot easier to handle. At first I was iffy about the hard plastic screen cover but now I think it's a pretty good feature if ur not gonna use ur iPod or iPhone for awhile. The cover for the docking connection is really cool too, makes it so u don't have to take the case off to dock. If I have any negative comments about this case it's this, the case fits perfect around the whole iPod, virtually almost airtight so no dirt can get in between the iPod and case but when u put the hard plastic screen cover on the back it kind of lifts the front middle of the case up just a little which makes it seem possible for dirt to get in. I've taken the case off to see if dirt ever gets in but there is never anything so I guess it's just more of me being paranoid. Other than that it's everything and more I would expect from a case

great protection but a bad feel. . I purchased an iSkin case after having a wonderful ~6 year experience with an iSkin case for my ipod nano (and still going).

This case is bulky and has a removable shield for the screen to move in front when not in use and behind the ipod (kind-of) when being used.
If I choose not to use the movable cover then the case just looks strange and feels wierd in my hand as one of the side tabs used to hold the cover digs into my hand when I palm it horizontally. When I use my hand my fingers fall into the area for the screen cover as well. All in all this case is proving to be an awkward experience for me.

I am giving it 5 stars at being able to protect the ipod touch with how thick the skin is at least in the front for the glass, but ease of use and aesthetics based on what I am used to with iSkin was far less then what I have come to expect from this company.

Microban? You'll need it. . In terms of protection, this case has you covered. It's easy to grip, has a sturdy visor to protect the (rather easily cracked) touch screen, and covers all the edges with rubbery silicon to dampen any falls and bumps it might end up taking.

It does not, however, look particularly good, despite the claims. The case might offer excellent protection, but it is very bulky, and rather dull-looking. The plastic visor tends to be easily scratched over time, and the casing itself has a tendency to cling tightly onto any dust particles that come into contact with it, giving the case a dirty, dusty look. The dust may be easy to wipe off with a damp cloth, but I do not appreciate having to go out of my way to get a towel and moisten it in the sink to wipe off the dust every time the iPod falls on the floor.

The main problem I have with it, though, is not what ends up sticking on the surface, but what's hidden inside the back cover that you don't see. Personally, I tend to have somewhat moist (fine, sweaty) palms, including when I'm using my iPod. After a few weeks, grease starts to build up inside the case behind the iPod. Not so much dirt, but just a layer of sticky, oily stuff that ends up smearing all over the iPod's chrome finish back. I make it a point to thoroughly wash out the iSkin every few weeks or so when the back starts slipping on the iPod, and wipe down the iPod itself with a damp towel. This ends up being a lot more trouble than I would have hoped for an iPod skin like this.
a few minor problems . iSkin makes GREAT cases. they always feel extremely sturdy, and they are always very protective, my iPod always stays clean in it. I have tried 4 other ipod touch cases and none of them were good enough for me (one silicon case, two hard cases, one leather case) this one is far better.

The silicon is an extremely snug fit, and no dust or dirt gets in, there are 2 different levels of silicon, one is a very very smooth layer, and the second is a rough, yet very good feeling bumpy silicon around the edges to provide more protection and shock resistance. when dropped it bounces slightly instead of just smacking flat into the ground.

It also contains a screen guard. this guard is both a plus and a minus. it provides incredibly hard protection on the screen, where the ipod needs it most. however, it also means that you cannot use the screen while it is on. it does not have a good place to hold it when the cover is off, becuase while you can stick it on the back it feels awkward with it. i usually pocket it. im going to lose it soon im guessing

That being said, there are a few problems, none that are game breakers:

the case has a great little guard for your usb connector when its off, however, the case has a problem in between the connector and the headphone jack. it is slightly too long. so you cannot connect both the usb and the headphones at the same time. to fix this you can cut around the headphone jack to make it wider. its easy. i did it with a very dull knife and it still looks great.

the last problem is the light detector. i hate it. i dont use it. i wish they had of added something to it so you can cover it up if you wanted to. as it is it is the only spot that is unprotected
Perfect!!!! . I have always loved iSkin products and this doesn't disappoint either. At first I purchased the Speck pixel skin which has great reviews, but soon I realized that the iPod does not fit perfect in that case. Also the bottom part is open for the dock and headphones which helps dust go inside. There were "spots" on the back of the iPod because of the dust particles. The small particles actually scratched the chrome plating. I have used that skin for about 1 and 1/2 months and was disappointed. Therefore I purchased Touch duo skin ( I had iSkin for my classic as well and there were no scratches ever).

Putting the case on can be tough at first because the case is such that it is tight enough to hold the iPod firmly.

There is a skin protector and screen cleaning cloth.

If you have an iPod touch and want to purchase a case then look no further. Don't make the same mistake as I did. So buy the iSkin Touch Duo case.

iSkin products rock!!
Best iPod touch case I've tried . The silicone case works nicely. Only slightly confused about the hard screen cover. Most of the time it stays clipped on the back, unused.
