The AWUS048NH adapter is the IEEE 802.11n/b/g Wireless USB adapter provides users to launch IEEE 802.11n wireless network at 150 Mbps in the 2.4GHz band, which is also compatible with IEEE 802.11b/g wireless devices at 11/54 Mbps. You can configure AWUS048NH with ad-hoc mode to connect to other 2.4GHz wireless computers, or with Infrastructure mode to connect to a wireless AP or router for accessing to Internet.
AWUS048NH includes a convenient Utility for scanning available networks and saving preferred networks that users usually connected with. Security encryption can also be configured by this utility.

wireless dongle . Wanted this for a linux pc I had but wouldn't recommend it, software
wouldn't install even after getting all updates, most forums I find
now say same thing. Power user might get it to work. So I tried it
in my windows pc man it works great instant install no problems most
of the time I'd see 3 or 4 networks to connect to in the past now I
see 18 and the signal is full 5 bars on the strength scale usually
was 2 or 2 1/2 bars.

very nice . so far very pleased i was only getting 2 to 3 bars took less than 10 minutes to setup and i now have 5 bars very fast delivery

Easy installation 5-bar reception for N150 Dlink network . Bought this for my wife to use on our home wireless network. Had been using a Dlink N150 USB transceiver with 2 bar reception at best (Dlink N150 router). Connected this unit on a 15-foot USB extension cable and placed close to the ceiling, located about 35 feet from router. The reception is 5 bars now at 150 Mbps. Great improvement for a reasonable price!

This adapter gets great reception, and even more so when you upgrade the antenna to one of Alfa's 9DdBi, which is quite large btw (I was getting 100% reception with this upgraded while I was getting about 80% with the one it comes with, and who knows with the MacBook's internal but the internet was slow) . My two quips with this adapter is that the software is a little hard to set up at first (Mac), and that the actual unit it pretty wide so it ends up blocking my other USB port on my MacBook Pro 13in, so an extension usb cable is pretty much a must if you're using your other usb port. Otherwise the unit looks good is quite fast and gets exceptional reception.
