Vista Compatible! Works great! . If you have limited space in your Windows PC (I only have 2 PCI slots), then this card can be a lifesaver. It packs four USB ports and 2 Firewire ports on the back of the card, along with an internal connector for each which I did not need/use. The card functions great in Windows Vista, I've hooked up my digital camera, external hard drives, and ripped DV from my video camera onto my hard drive with ease. Great speed on this card and full compatibility w/Vista...just what I needed!

Little Problem! . You must be very carefull because in some "Cases" (Like Thermaltek) the horizontal position of the USB Does not allow the plug go trough case slots. If your slots are wide enough you will not have problem.

Very Useful plus easy installation . I still have a use for firewire 400, just not on the front of the PC. A cable left plugged into the back is fine. My new Motherboard and PC case don't have firewire outlets on it. Hence a need for the card and extra USB ports always seem to be Handy.
I have a couple of External HDs that still use firewire 400 as the faster transfer mode (it IS faster than USB2 in extended flow mode, just not in burst rate). It is like comparing a road race which lasts for several hours to a drag race, which is over in less than half a minute on a track. For a flash thumbdrive, the drag race speed is fine, even for 4+ GB. A hard drive witth lots more GB is faster with FireWire. Also, digital cameras need firewire.
Installation was easy. The plugs are in the middle of the card, so all cases should be able to use them. You do need a free PCI slot, so keep that requirement in mind, but with so many Video and Audio add-ons to the motherboards these days, there are only 2 or 3 PCI slots available now.

No brainer installation works as it should . Plugged it in, Windows XP Professional detected it and installed the appropriate drivers while I drank my coffee. It works as it is supposed to. Excellent product.
Nice upgrade for a great price! . A great little combo card; just right for any one's needs. A combo PCI Host Controller adds 4 additional USB 2.0 ports (plus one internal) and 2 IEEE 1394 6-pin FireWire 400 ports (plus one internal). Great for external hard drives & cameras. The card fires right up for WIN 2K/XP and does include drivers for Win 9x. Comes with a 6C,4C (M-M) IEEE 1394 FIREWIRE cable.

I concur with the reviewer below with regards to USB/FIREWIRE plug clearance when installing this PCI card. I found that my standard no-name PC enclosure needed modifying for proper plug connection. Otherwise and excellent bargain.

Great addition to my computer . With so many USB devices now, my computer didn't have nearly enough USB port and it did not come with Firewall port that Video camera required to upload the video to the computer. this card offer the most ports. 2 firewall and 4 USB!. Installation is easy. The only concern was that the port is vertical, so it is very sensitive to match to the slot opening. It was so perfect that I have to slightly adjust the card position by plug the first cable, once it is lineup, screw in and it should work perfectly. Great deal and very happy with the purchase
Solid card . What can I say. Plugged the card in and it works. Cables are sometimes a tight fit into the slots due to the chassis being so close to the slots. Not a big problem though. Haven't had any problems.
Cons Review
If this was a USB card it would get 5 stars . Like the title says, if this was a USB card, I'd give it 5 stars. But since the main reason I bought it was for the Firewire port, it drops down to 2 stars. I got this card so I could capture video from my miniDV camcorder onto my PC, but I was getting so many dropped frames (somewhere in the neighborhood of 75-100 per minute) that the resulting captured video looked like a flip book -- that was missing half the pages.
I tried contacting the manufacturer through their website directly, but they never bothered replying to my e-mail.
