Great little hub for networking your USB devices! . I was a little skeptical as to whether this device would work for my needs. I previously owned a Belkin Network USB hub, and it was the worst electronics experience yet. But this little network USB hub performed for me wonderfully.
I am currently using it to pump sound to a USB audio card attached to this device from multiple computers on a network. In this way, I can listen to sound from all my PCs (as the sources) and play to the USB sound card attached to this hub. The hub is right next to my living room speaker system and now I get to enjoy sound from PCs in the other rooms of my house - right in my living room.
The setup is not too difficult as long as you have DHCP enabled on your router or are comfortable setting up a static IP on the device's web server page. Once configured, it flew right along and let me install all sorts of USB devices to my PCs.
One thing to understand about these USB-over-IP devices. They can be finicky. Every once in a while, the transmission cuts out or the signal gets lost. USB was never designed to be packetized and sent over a network, so although this device does work about 98% of the time, it does stop every once in a while. A simple refresh solves the problem. Other than that, it really does work great!
Key tip though: make sure to upgrade the onboard firmware when you first get it, and make sure to download and install the latest driver's from Zonet's website. Other than that, the price is very good, and it just works.

own and use this . I own one of these, the mfg makes it sound like "easy-pesy" share files between multiple OSs, however.
the Zonet is a great idea, link a usb hard drive to the network, but NO. In windows it will only show up as a media storage unit, which allows windows-shareing of media files. On mac it shows up but is not accessible. Shows up in Shared, and even "connects" But will not mount, and is not accessible.
The ZNS8030 also automatically reformats the usb drive connected to it into FAT32, max partition size 127 Gb. Supports up to 2 TB drive, but have not found how to add additional partitions in order to actually use the space.

Question for Zonet, why not just make it a real NAS connection device?
