This new Linksys rackmount switch delivers non-blocking, wire speed switching for your 10, 100, and 1000 megabit network clients, plus multiple options for connecting to your network backbone. Sixteen 10/100/1000 ports wire up your workstations, while the two mini GBIC ports allow future expansion to alternate transmission media like optical fiber for your backbone. All ports have automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover detection, so you dont have to worry about the cable type, and polarity detection will even automatically correct wiring errors. Each port independently and automatically negotiates for best speed and whether to run in half- or full-duplex mode. Head-of-line blocking prevention keeps your high-speed clients from bogging down in lower-speed traffic and fast store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from being passed on into the network.

Fast but noisy . I'm using several of these at our office and one at home. No complaints with performance, the web management UI works (We've set up spanning tree on a few), the rack mount form factor is convenient enough, but the fans on these are noisy. The one at home is under the stairs in our unfinished basement, and I can hear it clearly around the basement and sometimes even in the room at the top of the stairs.
Cisco SRW2016 16-port Gigabit Switch - WebView Reviews
Great Switch good price a lot of features . We brought two different brand switches to test. This SRW2016 from Linksys and WSR7312 from Netgear. NetGear switch is over $1000 and this one is under $400. Both of them are all gigabit ports. Linksys has 16 gigabit ports and Netgear has 12 gigabit ports.

However, this SRW2016 has more functions and features than the Netgear $1000 switches. For example, this switch supports LAGs for gang ports together in different LACP groups. Netgear switch does not. This switch allowing setup STP on top the LAGs, Netgear does not. This switch loaded with current firmware, Netgear switch comes with a two years old firmware.

This switch is really good bargain for its functions, features and speed. It is a shining star comparing to all those overpriced competitors.

The only problem we have is that this switch generates some kind of Apple Talk probing when we have switch setup to do STP on top of LAGs. That probing caused problem to our routers and VPN servers, so we had to turn the STP off.

Rock Solid . I have been running this switch for over 5 years now rack-mounted in the garage.

Yes the fans make some noise, but on hot days I'm glad that they're running.

This has been rock-solid and I can say that I have not had one single issue in the entire time running it.

Cons Review
Don't buy it if you don't use Internet Explorer . The Webview administrative interface only works with Internet Explorer. Safari and Firefox are out. I have a Mac/Linux environment and cannot manage this switch except by CLI. The switch is going back to Amazon.
