Belkin Ultra ATA/133 PCI Card F5U098V 628

Will not work on Gigabyte Motherboards . I had a like card installed on my old Compaq and it worked great right out of the package. I only used it as a IDE controller card so I can't say how the RAID setup worked. When I built my new computer I brought that one over to the Gigabyte MB, GAP55AUD3. Right off the bat the MB saw the card, but tried to boot from the data disk drives. That caused the computer to loose the boot drive and then i had to remove the card and reload windows. I tried the card with out any drives attached and the computer would power up and cycle on and off until I switched off the power. I figured I zapped that card so I ordered another. Meanwhile I emailed Gigabyte and Belkin to ask if there were any noted problems like mine. I'm still waiting for a response from Gigabyte and Belkin said it must be a problem with the MB. Plus the Belkin tech couldn't tell me how to configure the Jumper 1 (not covered in the manual). The writing next to it says in IDE/out RAID. I tried both ways. Same result. When the new card was installed I followed the manual, but I still got the cycling. i removed the card and went to an IDE to SATA adapter.
I'm sure these card are good. I'll let them go cheap.

I'm sure it's great! . I'm sure this unit will work fine because I bought an Ultra ATA33 Controller a few years ago for a Windows 98 machine and it is still working like new. I haven't used this unit yet because the hard drive I ordered to use with it was backordered indefinitely.
