Dirt simple works great . It seems I can never have enough USB ports, what with three scanners, four external hard drives, my iPod, a webcam and probably one or two other things I can't recall. I already have one USB hub - an older Belkin model - but I needed another. I bought my Dynex hub for way too much at Best Buy - like almost three times the price here. Even so, I'm happy with it. It does what it's supposed to do and lets me plug more stuff into my computer. It has a place to plug in a power converter, but doesn't ship with one. So far, I've had no reason to add power to it. It's also the smallest USB hub I've seen and it makes me wonder why the others have to be so big. Its diminutive size makes it perfect for laptops and netbooks.

This is an amazing USB hub. . What you get is nothing like what you see in the picture. This USB hub looks amazing and is powered! I have my external hard drive, my iPhone, and my printer plugged into one and I have no speed issues at all. This is a great buy.

Works better than expected . I don't know what others said but THIS HUB IS POWERED. Right now I have two phones connected to it and both are being charged.

DON'T SPEND $49.99 . How they explain/justify the mark-up is beyond me. I bought one of these at Best Buy (don't ask why) and knew I had spent too much ($18.00). So I looked it up on Amazon, and saw it for $49.99. I was like, what??? Best Buy offering a better deal than online? So I check it out and yup, it's $49.99. Then I notice the little new and used links below it, and saw NEW for two bucks. TWO DOLLARS. After S&H it came to about $7. So needless to say I bought one and plan on returning the other to Best Buy. It's a decent hub -- it does the job and has an optional power outlet for printers, but $50??? That's ridiculous. As I'm writing this review, they no longer have the ones for $2, but wait or look elsewhere. $50 dollars is a complete f'n rip.
Pretty decent not powered . I don't think this item claims to be powered, but it isn't. I just wanted to warn those that might buy it, that it will not charge your Iphone or other similar item. Does the trick though, I have a usb tv card, external (ac powered) hard drive and a wireless keyboard and mouse connected into it now. Works fine.
Great Hub! . Just as the item description said, this 4 port hub does just what I expected it to. Great for the price!
Ok then . Weird: I got an open box item with a bunch of partially blank stickers all over it with black marker squiggles all over them, it wasn't even taped shut, but then I go click my order to review it and see that the item I got looks way better than in the picture here, it's shiny black and wider. Woah I just noticed something else, my power plug isn't charged in (seems to fall all out easily, but maybe I removed it and didn't know it?) though it has a power port, you can also charge it using a USB cable, but it has to be one of those ones with the mini usb type cables at the end, the one that came with this was ridiculously long. Another bonus is there is no nasty WD-40 like-smell that sometimes fume off from cheap made-in-China electronic products, usually gassing off from the insulation on wiring (like usb cables or ordinary plug cords) and I even smelled it coming from the gears of a cheap walmart bike. The chemical, whatever it is, rubs off and the skin and takes forever to come off and if you smell it enough you'll want to puke, so happy to say it's not on this thing. I thought about asking for a small refund for how I received it, but since it's better-looking than what is shown in the picture, maybe not.
