Linksys Wireless . This wireless card does not do the job. Does not pick up a signal from my linksys router 30 feet away. However, my laptop gets good reception.

Review the Forums on Linksys . Although mine works fine, I would always review the support forums for any product. Although I don't believe Linksys has more issues then it's share, there are some issues with drivers and XP.

Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter Reviews
Runs like a Linksys! . It arrived in a timely manner, but without any supporting driver cd or documentation.
I did a search for the model number on the Linksys web site and down loaded everything I needed to get it up and running!

Cons Review
Shoddy drivers and a newer Windows "feature" won't allow card to work properly in Vista or Windows 7 Beta . If you are looking for a card that works well with Windows XP 32-bit, then this card is for you. However, if you are looking for something that will work with newer Windows OS'es, keep looking. I have been struggling for weeks to get this card to work in Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 properly. I would definitely recommend the MSI card over this one if you are intending to use it in conjunction with Vista or Windows 7 (beta release, or otherwise). The card does work with Vista and Windows 7 and if you want to read webpages or check email, then you'll be okay. If you enjoy streaming media (to or from your PC), downloading large files or gaming on your PC, forget this card.
Linksys (now owned by Cisco) does not do a very good job of keeping their drivers up to date or resolving issues on their message boards. Do a Google search for "WMP54G high ping" (or "WMP54G packet loss"), and you will find many forum posts from other users experiencing the exact same problem I have with this card. I've tried every solution suggested and nothing fixes the issue...and I'm a fairly technical person, so it's not something I'm doing incorrectly. Please see my review of the MSI Super G Wireless PCI 64-Bit XP Compliant Turbo Mode card for more detail.

Go with MSI's offering instead. Just make sure you download the newest 64-bit driver from MSI's website before you install the card.

Easy to setup; frequent connection drop . This card is easy to install and easy to setup. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to drop the connection frequently - sometimes every hour, sometimes every few hours. The connection drop lasts a few seconds. No versions of the drivers available seem to help, and the support forums give the usual useless advice. For those that don't need a constant connection on the home network, this adapter may be suitable, but if you must be on a network and/or the internet without fail, avoid the frustration and try a different adapter.
Keep Looking . Initially the Linksys uitility told me I am connceted, but the internet cannot be found. After calling tech support it connects but times out after about 2 minutes. I know the problem is with this adaptor (or the Linksys driver software) as I have 2 other computers in the house that connect to my router with no issues, and the upload and download speeds on those 2 computers is much faster. I am running this in a home PC with windows XP. I am boxing up this adaptor to take it back. FYI...mine is the WMP54G and looks just like the one in the pic. I don't know if the other WMP54G that looks much larger (and has a lot more reviews) is any different or better.
