Great DSL modem . I bought this modem when I was having trouble with my DSL service. DSL providers always assume problems with service originate with the customer and not with their equipment. I wanted to verify my modem wasn't bad, so I switched the one Verizon sends with this one. My old modem was fine and my speed problems were due to Verizon equipment, but I never switched back to my old modem. I find the lights on the TP-Link modem much more useful than my old Westell 6100G. There is a light for power, one for LAN that blinks when data is being transferred, one for ADSL that blinks or goes off when the DSL signal is lost and one for Internet that isn't on for me since I have it connected to a router and am using it in bridge mode. I choose this modem based on reviews I found elsewhere. The chipset is supposed to be beneficial if you are located far away from where the DSL originates maintaining a better signal. Based on the high level of variation I've experienced with DSL speed, I can't be sure this modem is better, but it sure seems that way. The TP-Link modem also seems to re-acquire a lost DSL signal much faster and doesn't notch down on speed requiring a power cycling to get high speeds back like the Westell did. I'd say the only negative thing I can say is that the power button on the back of the unit is a spring-loaded toggle push button. I think this button design will fail faster than a switch type button, but then again, I don't have to cycle the power every day or so anymore like I did with the Westell.
