Does what you need... . I needed a fast, reliable FW800 interface for a video capture application, and this works fine.
Two things that are not obvious from the description, that might be relevant:
1) It has a FW400 and a FW800 port, not two FW800.
2) In order to power devices from the FW800 port, you need an external power supply (not included). The access to the power port on the card is pretty tightly constrained, so you need to buy the adapter from SIIG.

Yes it works... . This work just as it says it will, I have Visat 32bit and everything work fine with my old Hi 8 camcorder....

Cons Review
Can't Power devices and no AC adpater included . Lets cover the bad first:
My laptop had a built in Firewire port but since it was 4 pin it can't power a device. I decided to get this card so I could plug in my Lacie portable hard drive that receives its power from the Firewire connection. Unfortunately, the card can't power devices without an AC power adapter which they don't include (you need to purchase it from their site for an extra $20+ shipping). They don't make that clear in the description. Because I don't have access to an AC outlet when I use my laptop it made the card useless.
The other issue I had is the amount that the card hangs out when plugged in. I was thinking like 1/2 an inch, while in reality its almost 2". It would be very easy to break the card or damage your express card slot if someone walking by bumped up against it or if you hit it with your own hand while reaching for something.
Now for the good, its made by a good brand (SIIG) and I got it because it had the both FW 800 and 600, although you can only use one port at a time. The other nice feature is that they have written drivers for Vista 32 and 64. Too bad it can't power devices.

not good on either of my two HP laptops . I spent a long time trying to get this firewire card to capture video with multiple video capture programs on two different large HP lap tops. The installation program wouldn't even explain that it just wasn't installing right. When I could get a hold of SIIG tech support people, I found all they were good for was reading the manual with a thick foreign accent. Luckily it was easy to return it to Amazon
