Inexpensive 5-port switch . This is an inexpensive switch from Linksys. For less than thirty dollars you get a 5-port switch with standard data rate of 10/100 Mbps. It has it's own power supply, power on LED indicator as well as LED indicators for each active port. It's a pretty small, compact size and light weight switch. Nothing special, but nice and small, good value for the price.

Linksys SE1500 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch Reviews
A 2011 Manufactured Wired Switch - Router . I just replaced my old router, with this switch a week ago (Dated 2011 on the box), with no problems. There are five ports. I plugged in the ethernet cable from my modem in port 5 and used the other 4 ports for my computers (2 ports are active now - See picture - Blue is from modem). NOTE: I purchased mine at the local Walmart for the same price -(90 day return policy - no questions) - They have it on line too.The switch seems to know that I have used port 5 from the modem and takes care of the rest, since it does not have a titled in port for the modem.This switch also allows my work VPN to log on and operate - My old router was out-dated and the VPN would not link to my company site. Now it will with the SE1500.This just saved me about $500/year, since I do not need to pay for a second cable company modem.I am so glad this is available. I did not want to go wireless.Note: There are no ethernet lights on the back ports for this model. - The ethernet lights blink via the front of the box through the front vents and are turned on/off via the switch on the back. I have no over-heating problems. The unit is slightly lifted off the table by the cables in the back.Update - 12/5/11 - So far so good - No problems with this product.Hope this helps, j.

No problems . Worked fine right out of the box. I use it on a 27" iMac, and it is connected to the antenna from my wireless ISP (I live in a rural area) and an Apple TV unit.
