Works Good !! . I do not have time to write a long review but I can tell you this Router works lot better than my previous D-Link and Link-sys, which kept disconnecting once a while somehow. But I do not have any problem with this unit. Signal is good, I have N, G and even B wireless devices and it works on all and all together; never had to reset it since I bought it.

So easy to install even a woman can do it . So many times I've purchased some technical piece of equipment from some young male tech-head who says "it's really easy" and then I get home to find it's anything but. This Netgear item truly IS easy to install. It was so easy, I'm even motivated to write a review, something I've hardly ever done.
I came to the USA on a visit, bringing my Macbook Pro 13" laptop. I was staying with my father who has the internet coming into the home via Cable. The tech-head at Best Buy assured me that this Netgear N-300 router would allow me to connect my laptop wirelessly to my father's internet, with lots of power and coverage, and would be easy to set up. Well, I thought I'd give it a try on my own, being ready to take it straight back to the shop if it gave me any trouble at all.
To my delight, the instructions in the box were straightforward, in good English with clear pictures. I installed the CD on my father's wire-connected computer and followed the instructions. Carefully, step by step. When it didn't work, I checked my connections. Woops, I had forgotten to press the power switch on. And then magically all the colored lights started to dance and my father's computer was connected again, this time through the Netgear router as well as the ordinary Cable modem. Thank goodness or he would have thrown me out of the house.
Next task was to get my laptop connected wirelessly. First I plugged in a spare ethernet cable into one of the spare Netgear ethernet ports (it has 4). Yup, worked fine. But would the wireless connection be as easy? (I was worried about all those passwords and ISP protocols that are so confusing to me, a helpless female). On my laptop, I turned on Airport. In the window was the word "NETGEAR". I clicked on it. I was connected. That's IT!!!! How amazing is that!!!! I did it all on my own, without having to call my tech-head nephew to bail me out!

Set up was super fast, I'd say 10 minutes plus a few more of power off and then on so the settings stick. My Apple laptop picked up the network without a hitch, and my Win XP machine (cabled to the router, not wireless) didn't give a peep, just started going. I was up and running in no time. I like the setup, it was painless.

It Works For Me . I bought the Netgear 300 router and adapter (sold separately) to broadcast/receive a signal from the second floor of my condo to the 1st... maybe 45 feet away at most. I decided on a little overkill, and I have gotten killer speeds. Online gaming is no problem, downloading large files takes no time at all. I would highly recommend this setup, after pouring over amazon reviews and considering how wary I was of wireless hardware.
After doing all the research, and knowing I hated Belkin and wasn't going that route, I finally broke down at best buy and nabbed the netgear package. Setting things up wasn't too painful, and I have not been disappointed yet (after 2 weeks). Now, if only my comcast connection was as reliable! Good luck!

Real easy to get it running . I bought this item "refurbished" and absolutely no regret. The signal strength is excellent and it is very easy to set-up. In fact, if you do not want to secure the connection then it is only plug-n-play. To secure the connection follow the procedure:
Connect to your router (through Ethernet cable or wireless). Use any internet browser and enter the address 192.168.1.1 with following username and password:
Username: admin
Password: password
These are the default settings on your Netgear. Once logged-in first thing I would do is change the password and then you can proceed with your choice of encryption using the "wireless settings" menu.

WNR2000 Lives up to NetGear's Name . This product is easy to install and easy to use. Install and use was a no brainer. I had a different brand more expensive wireless router and could not get it to work with my Comcast High Speed Internet. Even the router and Comcast's tech support were of no help. I followed the directions that came with this router and it has been working continuously for over 4 months. I have two desktop PCs running Windows XP and a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. Have not had any problems. The wireless range is great. I sit outside on my porch and read email.
NetGear WNR2000 router . I did buy a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 after reading customer reviews. I could not install Tomato firmware. Its original firmware was too bad: the Internet connection dropped many time in an hour of operation.
I swiched to NetGear N300 wireless router (WNR2000). The set up was very easy. It took twenty minutes then I could search the Internet, as well as networking.
I'm really happy with it.
Hope this router would be stable and last long.

Netgear . I just set this Netgear router up and it works perfectly. I'm used to the Netgear interface so setting it up was extremely easy. Connections went on like a breeze.If I didn't see that this was a refurbished unit I would not have been able to tell looking at the router on my desk, or the performance.
Cons Review
Junk . We've had two of these. First one burned out after 6 months. second one overheats and turns off at least twice a day. Terrible performance and more expensive than other routers.
Bad Experience . I bought this router through Amazon. Apparently it is a refurbished unit, although that was not at all clear when I bought it through Quantum Networks. So that means no customer support which I called because there was NO instruction booklet and NO CD ROM. Plus it doesn't have a built in modem like my other router did. So a complete mess and waste of time. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 since it is likely a brand new unit would have been OK, but be careful who you buy these through as there is very limited documentation and support.
