This review is from : 802.11N Travel Router 300MBPS N Travel Router with Magnet Mount
Perfect companion for my iPad . Bought this to use with my iPad and it works great over a WAP2 encrypted connection. I had tried the TRENDnet Wireless-N Travel Router (TEW-654TR) first, but returned after several issues. This Engenius ETR9330 Travel Router worked right out of the box, and I configured it wireless right from my iPad using the browser based admin panel. Really like the multiple SSID feature so I can create my own connection and then provide a different connection for others around me with a different password and different configuration. If you know 0% about configuring a router, I'm not sure how good the wizard is at walking you through changing settings, as I configured manually, and it probably has about any manual setting you could imagine. Also, half the price of an Apple Airport!
802.11N Travel Router 300MBPS N Travel Router with Magnet Mount Reviews
Perfect for the world traveller with an Ipad or MacBook Air . This ultracompact (smaller than a pack of cigarettes) wifi router is as good as it gets for a traveller and is a perfect add-on for an Ipad. This product is far superior to an Apple Airport Express. There is no external power supply, the router can be plugged into any AC outlet worldwide, you only need a cheap plug adapter. Initial setup via a web browser is very easy for anybody who has ever installed a home WLAN. For me it worked out of the box, setting a WPA passphrase for added security took a few seconds. No need to use the enclosed mini CD.

Good, but not excellent signal range covering an average size house. Excellent throughput and a complete range of options and settings for the advanced user. Integrated firewall makes connecting to unknown networks a bit less worrisome. Cute 6 inch Ethernet cord adds to the portability.

If you travel with an Ipad or MacBook Air this product is essential and at half the price of Apple's inferior product a bargain.

So Easy . I got this for travel and for use at the houses of friends and family that don't have wifi. It was so easy to set up. I did not use the mini CD at all. Here is what I did:

- Plugged it into the wired network using an ethernet cable
- Plugged it into the wall power with the power cord included
- Turned it on
- Waited until the leftmost blue light was on solid, indicating network connection
- Turned on my tablet (ACER a500) and went into the wifi settings. The travel router was listed there as EnGeniusxxxxxx (the x's are the individual unit MAC address).
- Chose 'connect' on the tablet and that was it. I was in and had internet connection.

Easiest wifi setup I have had.

To provide security I then went to my browser while connected to the new network, went to 192.168.0.1 (as indicated on the sheet that came with the router) and changed the admin password. Then set the security to WPA2(AES) and gave it a passcode. At this point it booted me out. I reconnected and gave the tablet the new security passcode when it asked me and voila - all done.

The range is pretty good. It covers my house from a central point, though the signal is a bit weaker than the signal from my Linksys home wifi. All in all very happy.
Works Great for iPad . Bought this travel router for a trip to Japan. Many hotels there offer wired internet, but not wi-fi. This means you need to bring a laptop to use. Rather than do this, I bought this router to use with my iPad. The instructions to setup are a little confusing. I was not sure whether I was setting it correctly. The travel router did not work at the first hotel I stayed in. I am thinking it was possibly an issue with the router setup and also the way that the hotel connection functioned. However, I was able to resolve the issue at the second hotel and it worked fine the rest of the trip.

Overall, I like this router. Once you set it up correctly, it works perfectly.
Just what I needed . I have to admit that I never understood my Airport Express. I was always bugged by the lack of either a web interface or an app that would allow me to access settings. The iTunes streaming was OK, but I never used it.

This thing, which is roughly the same size, and half the price, has a robust web interface accessible by any device (iPad in my case) and a full feature set that you would expect from your home router.
Worked perfect in Jamaica with my Ipad . I stayed at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Jamaica. They give you internet in your room via a cat5 cable, but no wireless. I bought this and holy cow did it come in handy. Unfortunately I had to do some real estate work while there, and this was a big help. Just plug it in, and in about 10 seconds I had a wireless connection. The speed was just as fast as wired, and it had pretty good range. I could go about 20 feet away with a wall in between with a good signal. I did not put a password on it, because once I finished my work, I just disconnected it. I plugged it in and unplugged it at least 100 times and did not have a single issue. It connected every single time without a problem. If you need a portable wireless router for your ipad, then this is the one to get.
Compatible with MacBook Pro and iMac . Easy setup via my iMac and MacBook Pro via Safari 5. Firmware update was flawless.
Very light, small, ideal for travel. 802.11n is fast.
Excellent for Travel with the iPad . I bought this router for a trip to Japan since the hotel did not have wireless in the room. It has worked out very well. It was easy to set up and handled my work computer and my iPad at the same time. Like all connections, the speed was not limited by this router but by the hotel's connection. It's small and takes a minimal amount of space in my luggage. It will travel with me everywhere from now on.
Very useful Router for Travelling . I travel quite a bit so I was looking for a small router to take with me whereever I go. I have a laptop, iPhone, iPad, etc that I always bring and it can be difficult to always pik up hotel wifi but they always have an ethernet port to attach this thing to. Not to mention if they charge for internet, I can buy one internet connection and then share it across multiple devices. The ratings were generally positive on amazon so I purchased this one. When I got it, I noted that it was a convenient size but its a little fatter than I expected. I know that sounds like a small thing but I the fatter something is, the more chance of it getting smashed in my travel bag. So far though its held up.I expected setup to be easy based on the ratings but initially it wasn't. When I tried to log into the router, I couldn't get the window to open correctly. I tried several browswers and I couldn't get it to go. I was about to call tech support when I closed the browser and then opened it again and it started working! Once I actually got the window open setup was easy.I took it with me on the family vacation. We have lots of gadgets and the router didn't break a sweat. It worked very well and reliably and I'm very happy with the purchase.
Great Choice for a Travel Router . For me, the auto setup required used of the included mini-CD, which meant that I needed to use a laptop with a slide-out CD reader. Do NOT insert the mini CD into a fixed slot laptop, such as a Macbook Pro. Setup with the included program was easy and updating the firmware was easy. Coverage area is much greater than I expected, almost as good as our Linksys home router. So now I can use a hotel jack for internet access, and share the EnGenius wireless connection with my work computer, personal iPad, and iPhone. The EnGenius is amazingly small, considereing that it does not need an external power brick. I might have downgraded my rating for doing a firmware upgrade, but most all electronics now need periodic upgrades and the process with the EnGenius was very easy.
