Recommended . I buyed 3 of this cards. They works fine in winXP with and without Service Pack 2. This cards are very cheap and works good. I connect them to a Linksys WRT54g. [...]

The card uses Texas Instruments chips. Seems like the chipset company don't support Linux. Hence, the card is not easily to install in Linux OS. You can find some web pages describing the linux instalation, but I had no time to do a try.

The non-Linux support is the only reason to give them 3 star. I will like to have a plug&play linux support as is the case of a lot of other cards.
TRENDnet 54Mbps Wireless G PC Card TEW-421PC Reviews
Easy to install and good reception . Received the card a few days after I ordered it from Amazon. After reading many reviews, I downloaded the driver from the Trendnet website instead of using the CD that came with the card. Unzipped and installed the files, re-started my laptop and inserted the card. Everything went smoothly and I was surfing the web in 5 mins. I read Gary's review about the card not working for his IBM Thinkpad and was skeptical at first since I am also using an IBM Thinkpad running Windows98 SE. But mine works perfectly and very good reception. Highly recommend it!

outstanding . Just installed it in 5 minutes while reading the - get this - MANUAL! They actually send you one! It finished installing itself on my aging Satellite with XP before I even finished the instructions. What a far cry from Linksys. Way better and for less than half the price. HOORAY!
It works just fine . I use this pcmcia card on my HP laptop running windows 2000 Professional and so far it had worked perfectly.
It comes with a software that helps you to connect to the wifi network.
At home I have a Linksys router but I had used it in other networks too.
Excellent Card for the MONEY... . You really can't go wrong with this card. The reception is excellent the price is awesome.
Couldn't Be Happier... . I have an older laptop running Win 98SE that I thought would be kind of cool to see if it would even work wireless. I had already bought a TRENDnet wireless router a couple of years earlier that has worked perfectly for me with my desktop computer in wired mode, so I thought for such a low price I'd take a chance on the wireless card. I also figured I could just return it if it didn't end up working out.

Well, I'm happy to report that it installed with no problems and has worked perfectly in my old laptop ever since. I am also very impressed with the well-written and helpful quick installation guides that came with both the card and the router, and had no problems when installing the utility and driver software that came with either one. My brother had recommended I stick with a better known brand back when I bought the router, but the TRENDnet prices were so much better that I decided to give them a shot. Based on my experience with them so far, I'm very happy that I did!
Works great on XP with enough memory. Not so well on 98se . I had this in my small Windows 98se machine and it always worked w/o problems. So when a friend needed a wireless card quickly for her XP machine I gave her mine and ordered a replacement for myself. When it came, I noticed the box was slightly different but the card itself looked the same. I installed it in my 98se machine and it wanted new drivers! After installing the new drivers, it still would not work! A call to Trendnet informed me that the card had been upgraded and now needed more memory to operate. Since my 98se machine was already maxed out, I switched the cards (new card to XP machine and old card to 98se machine). It would have been nice if Trendnet had indicated the version on the box but it is OK as both machines are working wirelessly great.

Cons Review
Was unable to use . I was not able to get this card working with my Win2K laptop. I'm no novice, have configured the rest of my wireless network without any problem, and have had a friend's Netgear card working in the same system. I called tech support and after working with me they said the card was defective and to send it back, which I did. However, I had the same problem with the replacement card. So, I can't recommend this product.
Piece of Junk . Don't waste your money on this adapter. This wireless adapter is a piece of junk. It would not stay connected to my network for more than a few minutes even though I was sitting no more than 2 feet from my wireless router. It was connected correctly and the software was installed but it refused to stay connected to the Internet. I returned it and bought a Zonet ZEW-1505 to replace it. The Zonet works perfectly.
Works but drivers cause problems with stand-by . The card works great and the installation was a snap. I downloaded the latest drivers from their website (Win XP). My laptop now freezes when it goes into standby...but otherwise it works great.
