The Zoom Bridge Modem is an ADSL 2/2+ modem with an Ethernet interface to a computer or a router. The Model 5715 provides a very stable system installation with a simplified set of configuration options to ensure problem free operation. The Bridge Modem works with any operating system which supports an Internet browser, including Windows, Macintosh OS and Linux. The Zoom Bridge Modem automatically detects the ADSL network settings. The Model 5715 also supports the use of third party PPPoE client software to provide compatibility with the widest range of service providers.

Great Modem . We bought this modem to replace the previous model zoom bridge modem (model# 5615) that got hit by lightning. All I had to do is plug it into the power, DSL line, and my Linksys wireless router. It automatically detected my Bellsouth/AT&T settings and with bridged mode enabled on the router internet was up and running within two minutes.

Easy to set up . I see a lot of DSL modems that have built-in wifi routers. This one is simply a DSL modem with an ethernet port that plugs into either a separate router, or your computer.
Our service provider uses bridged ethernet rather than PPPoE. Setup was as easy as plugging it into the phone line, and connecting to our router with the included ethernet cable.
The manual says it supports PPPoE as well, but I have no way to test and verify that.

Great modem for anyone with a standalone router already! . I am utilizing this with AT&T DSL. No issues with installation. Modem does not have integrated PPPOE functionality, but supports third party PPPOE seamlessly.
I paired this with a WRT54GL wireless router (still one of the best on the market) and was up and running in about 10 minutes. Modem is set with 192.168.1.1 as default IP address. Before you connect a router, either log into the modem or router and change the default IP so that you don't end up with an address conflict. Other than that, simple installation and setup; rock solid performance!

Product Review . Overall I believe the product was very decent. What I didn't like was it does not have additional indicator lights to alert you to whether the product has any problem with the connection to the internet. My other concern was you have to be careful when getting a third party device to the DSL provider because they want provide support if it is not one they recommend.
Cons Review
Cannot access Zoom menus and modem will not auto-detect . I purchased this modem when signing up for my CenturyLink service in Wisconsin; once receiving it, I went step by step through the owners manual PDF trying to gain access to the modem through the ethernet port to change settings since the modem would not auto-detect my ADSL line as specified. Changed my TCP/IP settings and tried to get in through 192.168.1.1 in both IE and Firefox and every time my action would time out with no response from the modem (other than the ethernet light blinking *claiming to be speaking with my PC*).
I am very unhappy with this product and I am warning all future purchasers to stay away from Zoom's bridges as you will not be able to configure them.

Junk . The first thing you would notice, if you made the mistake of buying this item, is that everything feels cheap. The packaging. The modem. Even the transformer. They were so cheap in the production of this product that they supply an ethernet cable with only two pairs of wire. While it's technically true that you only need those four pins (1/2 and 3/6) for regular networking, it's a trivial cost savings not to have the other two pairs. I should have known immediately when seeing that cable that this product was trouble.
Pros: The LEDs light up.
Cons: Device was braindead on arrival. I could not communicate with it when plugging directly from my computer to the modem. Worse, it seriously damaged my computer's motherboard. The router was unable to PPPoE through the bridge this modem supposedly makes. I wouldn't buy another Zoom product again. I wouldn't take them for free.
As an IT professional maintaining a medium-sized university network, I have a lot of experience with this sort of equipment. This is junk. Don't waste your money.
