I like the Alfa better! . I purchased this item after recently purchasing the Alfa, also offered by this seller on Amazon. (USB 500mW WiFI Adapter for Wardriving & Range Extension *Strongest on the Market* $51.99)
I liked the Alfa but this one had a bigger antenna and was cheaper and looked almost identical to my Alfa so I decided to give it a try. I'm not loving it. The setup was much more difficult and I couldn't get it working on my desktop running XP at all. The Alfa plugged right in and runs like a dream on it. Also, I actually get worse reception with the big antenna than I do with the small one.
All and all, I would recommend the Alfa over this one for ease of installation (installed on XP with no additional work and installed on Vista with driver from website pretty easily). Also the Alfa seems to more consistently maintain the signal and I got more bars with it then I am getting with this GSky.
Spend the extra few dollars and go with the Alfa. (By the way, I am a SAH mom, not a computer geek, so keep that in mind when I talk of ease of install and setup.)

For the price very slick! . Hard to complain about this for $30. Install was smooth, and it pulls in signal like I've never seen. Marginal systems at motels are now 100% reliable. And when you're out and about, there's usually (ahem) some router nearby that'll get you a quick email check. I'm ordering a second one shortly!

Well worth the money. . I have been using this for about 2 weeks. I liked it so much that I ordered a second, despite its downfall.
My old setup was a pci Wireless nic, a 500 db wifi amplifier, and a 7dbi antenna. Total cost to complete - $120
This completely replaces that setup in most regards, and even out performs it with signal strength and distance. It also supports Wireless N which my old setup did not.
The downfall... After about 8 hours of non-stop usuage, it drops connection, and will not reconnect until you force it via software. It does this every 8 hours nearly to the minute. Makes it fairly useless on a server.
My old setup works for months on end without any interference required (wireless server), but doesn't have the strength that this offers.
I ended up setting this up on my server as a primary connection, with an auto-failover to my old setup.
If you are buying this as 'cool toy' by all means go for it. If you are looking for something rock-solid and reliable... I hate to say it, but go with a pci card version, seperate booster, seperate antenna, and then go buy this as a toy.

mehh.... . bought this wifi card for a project, the 9dbi antenna that came with it the coax broke @ the sma connector. the adapter itself is nice, having a full watt of power and the proper antenna it gets the signal out there. it gets hot when the power is turned up all the way and after some time it will stop working, only if you leve it @ full power for a long time. the software for this adapter SUCKS and is glitchy, all and all pretty good for the price and will work nice for connecting to an AP that's a little farther away.
NO REPLY . The product works great. The software that came with it would not download on WINDOWS 7 Pop up note read IT WAS NOT A DIGETLY SIGNED DRIVER. I ask PROCON and REALTEK for info where to locate a proper driver, and never heard from them again. I have two GSKY signal boosters and they work fine. Some how after two days trying I finally got the new one to accept WIN 7.
I am satisfied but?? . I am quite happy with this purchase. There is one problem however, when I received the package the high gain antenna was broken. I had to join it using electrical tape. In spite of this the wifi adapter worked quite well. I was disapointed when I did not see an installation CD in the package. My disapointment was short lived. When I hooked it up to my Acer netbook running Windows 7 home basic it connected to the internet and downloaded the drivers. I must point out that the initial installation was done with the network cable connected to my router. All in all I think its a great product and I plan on purchasing a replacement antenna.
Still testing so far Great! . I bought this unit to replace a WPC54G that kept dropping connection and having a poor range inside libraries and an old school. I use Ubuntu Linux 10.04 with the latest updates and WICD manager for my network connections. Initially, I couldn't connect to my home wap 'till I remembered that I had enabled MAC filtering. After that came right up using the wext driver. Great reception with a noticeable increase in web pages loading very snappy. I have yet to test it on the road yet (thats why 4 stars). Next couple of weeks, I'll test it at locations/events in my area.

doesnt work . I get more connections through the wifi device that comes with my computer.and the small antennae picks up better signals than the bigger one.
Brother does not know everything for WiFi . My brother talked me into buying this product and I got it in no time. I installed in on Vista and the signals on the present surounding WiFi's were stronger, but the one very hot spot 1 block away that I really wanted to bring in... did NOT work with a straight shot from my window. So, I give this product up and put in in my junk box for a day that I can sell it in a garage sale to sum other unsuspecting victim.
I see another went to Alfa, I think maybe I need to read these before making dicissions with lots of money.

counterfeit item . Gsky wifi adapter web site informed me they had stopped making this unit a year ago due so many counterfeits.The adapter did not work and did not match the picture on the amazon site.I did get a full refund.www.gsky-link.com
