A few harmless quirks but it gets the job done . I installed this on my G5 iMac, which natively only has 802.11g wi-fi. But with this adapter attached, I was able to stream 720p video from my iMac to the Apple TV without the slightest stutter.

Download speeds from the Internet were about twice as fast as before, according to a Speakeasy speed test. Upload speeds (to the Internet, not within my home network) were the same as before, but I suspect that's due to my ISPs upload speed caps.

There are a couple oddball things though. During the initial setup, it seemed to take awhile for my iMac to recognize that the device was connected to the Internet. Since then, however, it hasn't been a problem. Also, the device doesn't seem to like it when I download software via OS X's Software Update app -- downloads would stall out very quickly. Yet downloading the same update from Apple's support site worked flawlessly.

Also, when I woke the computer up from sleep, it appeared that the adapter didn't automatically reconnect to my network. But it established a connection the instant I started up the adapter's configuration app -- so quickly, in fact, that it may have just been a coincidence. Still, after doing that, the connection was as solid as ever.

Finally, the configuration app could definitely be more elegant and "Mac-like." But this is a minor concern. Some people might also not like the fact that the Mac drives aren't on the included installation disc. But they're easy to obtain off Trendnet's Web site.

Overall, so long as you don't mind starting up the configuration app when you wake your computer from sleep, this adapter should give you all the speed you need for normal Internet use and streaming video to your Apple TV or other media streaming box. Plus, it saved me from having to buy a new computer this year!
TRENDnet 300 Mbps Dual Band Wireless N USB 2.0 Adapter TEW-664UB (Black) Reviews
Great does the job. . I upgraded my wireless router from G to dual N, wanted an N adapter I could use quickly and this one plugged in, set up with no problems and worked great. I went from receiving 54Mbps to 270Mbps with a very strong signal. I should mention both the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands send a strong signal but the 5. signal will not travel as far.

Last, I was connecting to the new Trendnet 300 Mbps Concurrent Dual Band Wireless N Router TEW-671BR. I can't say if it would be as easy connecting to other brands. The PC's and Mac I had in the home do fine.

300Mbps Dual Band Wireless N USB Adapter TEW-664UB (Version v1.0R) . This is a great network adapter. I had difficulty at first when I installed the drivers and utility from the CD that came with it on my Windows 7 64bit laptop. Checked for drivers on the manufacture's website and they were from '09, so I uninstalled the drivers, connected the LAN cable, plugged the adapter directly into the laptop and downloaded Microsoft's drivers and it worked fine sense then. It works in conjunction with a Netgear Rangemax WNDR3700 Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router (Black). I use the 5 GHz band so I get exceptional performance even through walls at long distances.
Wireless N USB Adapter for Mac and Windows . Finding a Wireless N USB Adapter for Mac and Windows is a challenge. Apple does not offer such a product and 3rd party vendors frequently do not up front clear state "For Mac" or "For Mac and Windows PC's". My old Powerbook G4 still works fine as a secondary unit, but its manufacture antedated the release of wireless N. The old machine now chugs along a bit faster on the internet now and the old built in wireless G radio does not drag down the connection speed of my wireless N router when another user logs on to my wireless N network. The Trendnet unit woks well, however, the installation on Mac requires download of Mac OS drivers from the Trendnet web site. Trendnet still pays homage to windows by not including the drivers on the included cd. Nevertheless, the product works well at the 300 Mbps not the older 150 Mbps speed. Best on the market! . This Wireless N adapter works great! I get great speeds on my laptop and am able to connect farther away. I am very happy with this purchase.

Cons Review
Not that great . My router is on the second floor of the house and I bought this hoping to receive better signal than the existing adapter in my 2 years old laptop.

With the 2.4 band, I was able to get 130 Mbps on my existing adapter, with this is one the signal was not getting above 50 Mbps at the same location. As far as the 5.0 band, the signal was almost non exist ant, and that is understandable due to the distance from this device to the router.
Erratic package of 11n insanity . I have a bland laptop computer three years old running Windows XP Home Edition. It is middle of the road in every sense. It'll run any software, co-opt any hardware. Nothing unique.

The Trendnet N adapter rejected it or it rejected the adapter. Either way it failed.

Ran install off the disk. Utility installed with icon on desktop. Plugged adapter into USB port. System failed to recognize. Utility failed to launch. Rebooted with adapter plugged into port. Still no luck. Finally called Trendnet tech support. Guided me through install using native XP wizard. System recognized hardware but failed to spot the 5.0Ghz band broadcast from Netgear WNDR3700 router. Did find the 2.4GHz band.

So, per support tech instructions I returned the adapter for another one.

Same installation problems. Had to use native XP wizard to install driver/utility again but this time 5.0GHz SSID appeared. Utility UI primitive but did connect to 5.0GHz SSID. Sadly, over the next ten minutes adapter randomly dropped then reaquired signal multiple times. Finally connection somehow steadied but all browsers failed to find the internet.

Insured problem lay with Trendnet adapter by switching to OEM wireless G adapter in computer itself. Both WAN and internet connection present.

Trendnet product proved faulty--twice.

I'll be avoiding Trendnet in the future.
TrendNet . Didn't work so fast as I imagine. Two floors house and the speed conection was very low. Could be a good option close to the hardwares.
Two Stars for Two Bars . I purchased this for a PC with an Ubuntu (Linux) operating system. I should have done better research; Trendnet doesn't provide drivers for Linux. I did eventually find a driver that worked for the 2.4 Ghz band, but it didn't work well... or so I thought. Turns out it was the adapter, because it still did poorly when I traded it out with my Windows 7 PC's cheap Medialink adapter. On the Windows 7 machine, where the Medialink got 5 bars, the Trendnet gets 2 bars on both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands.
problems connecting . Although I read good reviews about this product, I did not know that its connection often does not work. It is more problem than help for me.
