It might look like a squid, but its actually a 4-port USB 2.0 hub with a port on each "tentacle." You can plug in multiple oversized plugs from nearly any direction and bulky items, like some card readers, won't block adjacent ports. Requires Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP or Mac OS X.

Squid-tastic!! . I purchased one of these about a year ago. No problems yet. I HATE the USB ports on my pc box as they are too few and WAY too close together! My fat fingers have trouble getting in between the cables sticking out of the back of my pc so inline USB ports are more hassle than they are worth. Unfortunately, I have multiple peripheral devices that I need to plug in to USB ports and it's time consuming and annoying to have to stop everything you are doing to shut down each piece, wait for the OK to unplug, fumble around the cables in the back of my pc to find the correct cable, slide my fat fingers in between those numerous cables, unplug a device, try to plug in new device, try the cable the other way because it won't fit, plug it in the correct way, wait for the device to be acknowledged, wait for it to open up and then finally get to use it, only to have to go back through that whole process again to plug the original peripheral back in. 2 birds with one stone. Multiple devices that are ALWAYS plugged in and recognized and if you DO need to swap one out, the ports aren't so close together that you need a childs hands to do the job. LOVE this product!!

DSI Smart Hub USB 1.1 High Speed 4-Port Hub Reviews
USB squid makes life so much better. . The USB squid saves the day, especially when you're using a laptop as your main computer. This product is as tasty as it's bretheren, calamari with a spicy dipping sauce. It works like a charm adding extra ports in a pinch, and best of all it's plug and play.

Cons Review
Didn't work for USB 2.0 devices . This product is advertised as "USB 2.0 Hi-speed 4 ports", however USB 2.0 devices cause an error message. My USB 2.0 flash drives (2 different brands) will not operate with this hub. The Win XP error message is that I am trying to use USB 2.0 devices with a USB 1 hub. Obviously this is totally unsatisfactory. I then purchased a Belkin USB 2.0 4-Port Ultra Mini Hub F5U407 from Amazon. This hub functions fine, with no problems or error messages.
What a Waste . Device worked on my pc for 5 days and then started throwing up device errors.
I tried it in several other pcs around the house and got the same errors in both XP and Vista.
I thought I would use it for the Xbox. It worked well at first but has started
throwing up device errors there too. I guess I got what I paid for.

Not working like it should . Unfortunately it doesn't allow more than 2 devices connected at a time to work, so it's not really worth it if that's what you're going for. fortunately, I only needed two and they work fine, and it allows for some space rather than plugging in directly.
