Great little item. . This product arrived within a few days, plugged right into my laptop, and automatically loaded the software. I plugged my firewire cable into it and was able to download video immediately. This product works well and is reasonably priced. A little warning though: Don't expect this card to slide unobtrusively into your laptop. It hangs out about an inch and a half and will be in the way if you want to put your laptop in a carrying bag or backpack. It does plug in easily and load up quickly comparable to a jump drive so I just leave mine out until I need to download video. Also, if you are thinking of buying a new video camera, you probably won't need this. There are new, faster ports and cables out that the new products use. I bought a new camera of the same brand and it didn't even have a firewire port. The download cable provided just used a regular old HDMI port.
