Airlink AWLC4130 Super G Wireless Cardbus Adapter Reviews
Simple Installation Reliable Performance . I usually rely upon my Treo for email access away from the office, but needed full connectivity while on vacation recently to complete my part of an important project. As my Thinkpad T30 did not have WiFi, I needed a card and this one was available locally.
Installation was simple, load a CD and run setup. There was one error message about script installations which did not seem to affect the unit's operation. A reboot was necessary.
The next time I needed access (which happened to be using Panera Bread's free Wifi), the connection was straightforward. I was able to connect using my company's VPN and access everything on our internal network as though I was still at my desk. Speed was slightly slower than a local network connection, but not objectionably so.
The card includes power and link LEDs, so there is some activity feecback. The software control panel can be activated by clicking a small icon in the system tray, which lists all nearby networks. It also provides an option to start automatically or not - as a comparatively infrequent user, this is a useful control for me.
All my access was local, and I have not tried to measure the card's transmission range.
I would characterize myself as an infrequent traveler. Others may need more features or bells and whistles, but I am pretty satisfied with this product.

Works with Backtrack3 . This card works great with Backtrack3 which is why I ordered it to begin with. Tried it on my Win7 box also...FYI..If you try to install it on a Win7 system then it will work but the wireless utility will not. You have to download the driver only from the website and install. Then it will work fine but no fancy gui. None necessary anyway though. Good product.
