Replacement to older model . I have two older previous models of this product, the HWU8DD does not work with Windows 7 64, forcing me to upgrade. I installed this new dish in 5 minutes. I have been staying at my mothers home and the "Kind neighbor" next door gave me her wireless key. Without this dish I had to place my computer on the window ledge to get even 1 bar poor signal strength. With this new dish I get a constant Excellent 5 Bar signal strength. I now have my computer setup on a regular desk across the room! GREAT PRODUCT ONCE AGAIN! Thank you.

Superior Product . I am going to give this unit the highest possible rating. It is clearly superior to anything I have ever had. It will pull in signals from blocks away through buildings and trees! If you have the latest operating system and processor, I recommend installing both the included utility and driver, bypassing windows "zero config". When I set the unit on a perch outside my window, the utility displayed a laundry list of available secured and unsecured networks, and a wealth of information that included signal strength, and the quality of the signal. Tip, if you are using this product on a computer with an older operating system and processor, consider just installing the driver only. I've noted slightly better performance this way. Don't be alarmed by the lack of friction between the dish and the base as some people have reported. I have used the unit exclusively out my window, and it has always maintained the set position. I couldn't be happier with this product.
Best wireless connection yet . I was impressed with the improved wireless speeds with this product. My old laptop wi fi would drop signals often, and some other devices would occasional drop connections. This Hawkins hi gain adapter maintains a solid connection and stays at the highest speed 54 mbit. The dish design really works. I can directly see the signal strength increase or decrease as I point the dish in different directions. Another metric that impressed me was that when the scan for available networks using the hawkings utility shows double the number of networks that in my neighborhood that I didn't see before. It shows which channels are being used. I found that the channel was using was overused, and so I selected a unused channel which further improved network speeds/ reliability.
Hawking Hi-Gain Wireless-G USB Network Dish Adapter . Arrived on time as usual, easy to install, just pop in the CD and follow the bouncing ball. I bought this unit to boost my Wi-Fi signal for my motorhome. Before installation I was at 33%, afterwards it was pegged on 100% constantly. It advertised a 300% boost and it delivered. My connection feels like I'm back on a hard connection. A definite buy if you need a signal boost and want an indoor solution.
Works Like a Charm . I've been using this for about a month now. I am able to receive 95-100% signal strength from a relatively distant router (about 200-250ft). The signal is strong enough for surfing the web, streaming video, Skyping, etc. Couldn't be happier with it.

Does what it Claims! . I'm sure there are a few comments stating that the product didn't work for them, but as far as my situation goes, this device is incredible. Easy setup/install, and started working immediately. The results were very impressive.
Wireless . This item does every thing they say it will do. I am very happy with mind. I live on a Island where there is no WiFi but they are WiFi on the other side of the river about 600 Yards wide it picks up the single and holds five bars.
