Great Access Point . We replaced a 2004 D Link wireless router that worked fine until moving from a Condo to a House. The signal was so bad, that it wouldn't reach past one room, even when coupled with a repeater!
This access point is the Mac Daddy of wireless access points. WOW. We went from no signal in the next room to 5 bars anywhere in the house. The access point was fairly easy to set up compared to other access points I've worked with lately. A detailed instruction manual is included, and though it is somewhat generic, it is far superior than directions included with other access points.
Setting up the SSID is a bid different than some traditional access points, but once we figured that out, things were easy. When we changed the setting to AP Router, the settings somewhat blew up, but since the device isn't actually a router, it wasn't important. We just reset the device and kept it set as an access point.
Definitely a fan!!!!

Fast and powerful; easy setup . Great configuration interface; fast wireless and fast and responsive web interface. I prefer just to go in and configure the settings directly (no wizards), and everything was easy to find and configure. You can change the power setting; I upped it to cover a three story building -- from the building next door. So far so good!

ECB3500 Business Class WirelessAccess Point Opinions
Great Access Point in a Small Package . I recently replaced my WAP53G access point with the ECB3500. The stock antennas were replaced with 9dbi antennas for additional performance. The output power is adjustable up to 28dbm without antenna multiplication. The performance is simply outstanding in range and dependability. There have been no drops in signal and the range is about 600 feet with the unit installed indoors. I could hardly believe this wonderful performance in such a small package, very small compared to the WAP54G. There is very little heat produced and receive performance is excellent. It is fully compatible with all of my wireless "G" hardware.
The super "G" mode works only on channel 6 which I have read is standard but this might cause interference since so many customers leave the channel selection on their units on channel 6 as shipped. Channels 1,6, and 10 have the least overlap in frequencies and all work equally well in strength at a long distance(XIRRUS has an available gadget for Vista and Windows 7 sidebar to read out signal in dbm) . In the "b/g" or standard 54mb "g" mode, the frequency is completely variable as well as multiple forms of encryption. The unit works well in the WPA2/PSK mode without dropouts or data stream problems.
The instructions with the unit are not clear or precise. The unit IP address is set for factory default as 192.168.1.1 which is in conflict with most routers and must be changed before programming (an insert is provided explaining how to do this). The provided guide is very sketchy and non-detailed but a cd is provided. I always prefer to enter the address and program manually. The full instructions are available online from Engenius and are very complete. One of the nice features is the ability to use four identifiers with different decoding for each or open access for one. That way you never have to give out your main wireless name or code but have one for friends to use.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this product. I was looking at wireless "N" access points but have read about very poor range on most. I have three Roku's, a laptop and an iPad connected to this device and all will work simultaneously without any problems. If you have the internet speed to support all the wireless products then you should not be disappointed in performance. Long term dependability is unknown but for the price of the product, I would easily purchase a replacement. This is a fantastic product for the price!

Best bridge yet . Very stable, cool running and high range; better than anything I have tried before, and reasonably priced for the performance.
EnGenius ECB3500 . This product EnGenius ECB3500 works great. I had it connected as a repeater connecting Verizon wireless modem/router to my PC and iPad. I used to get one bar (6 Mbps) in my bedroom downstair about 50 ft away from the router in upstair computer room. Now I get 4 to 5 bars with 54 Mbps. It is interesting that if I plug the unit into a power strip where I have my desktop PC plugged in, it does not work. I had to have it connected directly to a wall outlet. Highly recommend this product to extend the wireless range and get good reception. Great great product.
Oh, before I purchased ECB3500, I bought a 9 inch unidirectional antenna for the Verizon wireless router and I got from zero bar to 1 bar in my bedroom. I think this 9 inch antenna might have helped to better connect ECB3500 to Verizon router. Hoever, I only used the original antenna that came with ECB3500.

Oh, before I purchased ECB3500, I bought a 9 inch unidirectional antenna for the Verizon wireless router and I got from zero bar to 1 bar in my bedroom. Blows the doors off everything else . This unit is to be used in event photography at a wild animal park. I have done a site survey with the device and have found that coverage is about 500 feet from the unit at 54mb. I use an alpha unit connected to a netbook and transmit through the AP to a laptop. This unit holds up to the reviews I have found. I replaced the 5db antenna with 9db. It increases the range substantially.
Powerful access point . I have 2 of these operating in my home, one as a wireless router, one as an access point. I found these extremely easy to setup following the 1 page setup guide for either mode of operation, and the signal strength is unparalleled by any other wireless router I have ever used. Nothing else on the market even compares!
good device . it is good, i use it about 20 days and i feel so good about the coverage and the speed , just 2 issues ..power supply adepter becz support up to 110v while in my country use 220v so you need to get new power supply and the other issues .. the package should include PoE adepter not need to buy it separate !
Cons Review
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE . AMAZON needs to add an option to rate products at ZERO STARS. Not impossible if you don't have a home network already. But w/several routers already in service throughout the home, ALL W/default IP Addrs of 192.168.1.1, it was a real task to get this connected and config'd. There's a dd-wrt porting guide with comments like "The following procedure is time sensitive. You may need to try SEVERAL TIMES... blah...". You get the idea. And then there's the need to download putty. And all of the instructions to config are using WinXP images!?!?!?! Wher have these people been for the last few years?!?!?!?!?!!?? Useless instructions. Way too difficult to configure. NOT FOR ANYONE WHO SIMPLY WANTS TO PLUG THE GD THING IN, CONFIGURE AND GO!!!!!!
I boxed this POS up and had it sent back, then went w/a Netgear (I won't say which one). Had it the next day and was plugged in, powered on, in business in less than 10 mins.
Want a good network product, go NETGEAR.
